Liz Johnstone - Chairperson
Liz Johnstone is a member of the Victorian Coastal Council.
She trained as an accountant and has a background in small business,
being a partner in a family owned business, Company Secretary
(Drawplan Pty Ltd) and a board member of Elwood Financial Services
Pty Ltd. Ms Johnstone has extensive experience with local government
and community and was formerly Mayor of the City of Port Phillip,
retiring from Port Phillip in November 2004. Ms Johnstone has
served as a member of a number of relevant associations including
the Municipal Association of Victoria, the Association of Bayside
Municipalities, the Australian Local Government Women's Association
and was a member of the Port Phillip & Westernport Catchment
Management Authority. Ms Johnstone is a Cranlana alumni and a
recipient of the Telstra/MAV Fellowship. She currently works for
the Municipal Association of Victoria.

Mr Neil Beddoe
Neil Beddoe is a resident of Cowes and has had a long involvement
in and around Western Port, including preparation of the initial
Westernport Planning Strategy. A member of several local and State
associations including Yachting Victoria, Westernport Water, Mornington
Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere, Marine Emergency Services
Review (Department of Justice), Cowes Yacht Club and Western Port
Marine Reserve. Neil was awarded an Emergency Services Medal (ESM)
for his services. A past member of the State Boating Council and
with a local government background extending 40 years in Business
Administration, Planning and Engineering, Neil brings a strategic
and recreational boating knowledge to the Board.

Ms Susan Longmore
Sue Longmore has actively participated in the Queenscliff community
for over 20 years and is a coastal community representative on
a number of committees at a regional and state level. She has
extensive experience in involving community in integrated coastal
and catchment management through working for the past nine years
as Coordinator for the Swan Bay Integrated Catchment Management
Project. Sue is also a fibre artist who uses her art to raise
community awareness about environmental and social justice issues.
Sue's commitment to protecting both marine and terrestrial environments
has been recognised through a number of awards including the Order
of Australia medal for "services to environmental conservation,
particularly in the Swan Bay and Queenscliff areas, and to the
community".

Dr Mick Lumb
Dr Mick Lumb has had a career-long involvement in natural resources
and land use planning. He was Director of the Land Conservation
Council when the State-wide system of conservation reserves was
established and has been Director of various Environment Divisions
and the Office of the Environment in a regularly restructured
Victorian public sector. He currently runs a business in natural
resources management. Dr Lumb serves on a number of government
and community Boards and Committees, is an Adjunct Professor at
RMIT University and is a former Chair of the Port Phillip and
Westernport Catchment Management Authority.

Mr Gary Martyn
Gary Martyn is a community representative from the Bass Coast
region, active in groups including Cape Paterson Residents &
Ratepayers Association, Bass Coast Coastal Alliance, Victorian
Coastal Alliance and Australian Marine Conservation Society. Mr
Martyn is on the Community Advisory Board for the Bunurong Marine
National, Marine & Coastal Parks. He brings to the Board a
professional background in (physical) oceanography, engineering,
project development and corporate governance. Mr Martyn would
like to strengthen community understanding of the value and fragility
of the marine environment.

Ms
Amy McDonald
Amy
McDonald, a scientist by training, has spent the past seven years
working in the sustainability sector for organisations such as
Conservation Volunteers Australia, the Municipal Association of
Victoria and the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere
Reserve Foundation. She is an environmental advocate for Environment
Victoria, and a member of the City West Water Community Liaison
Committee, where she worked to draft the parameters for their
Environmental Improvment Plan. Amy works as a writer and editor,
trainer and facilitator, for community and environment groups.
She has created several volunteer-run community art projects and
has recently established an arts salon on the Mornington Peninsula.
This is Amy's second term as a member of the CCB.

Ms Natasha Reifschneider
Natasha Reifschneider brings professional experience from State
and Local Government and the private sector, in environmental
planning & impact assessment, and community consultation.
Her experience includes that in coastal and environmental management
plan preparation and assessment of environmental impacts on the
coastal environment, such as from stormwater drainage outlets,
marina development, and infrastructure installation. Ms Reifschneider's
background includes coastal Crown land & private coastal land
development and management. She also brings an in depth knowledge
of the Victoria Planning Provisions and statutory planning in
Local Government. Ms Reifschneider has had an active interest
in coastal management education and wants to inject new ideas
about coastal management through her role on the Central Coastal
Board, and involve the next generation in coastal planning and
management.

Mr Jeff Weir
Jeff Weir is a marine scientist and passionate marine educator
with over three decades of experience. He is an experienced diver,
among the first to dive Port Phillip Heads in the early 1970's
and a champion for the Bays. Mr Weir has taught in tertiary, TAFE
and Secondary sectors and ran his own marine education consultancy
for many years. He has experience in the management of marine
ecotourism and impact assessment. Mr Weir was a founding member
of the Dolphin Research Institute and is currently the Executive
Director. He is also an Alternate Director with the Mornington
Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere Reserve. Mr Weir is passionate
about our bays and their unique ecosystems and wants to promote
a stronger consideration for marine ecosystems and species in
coastal management and the role of "social marketing".
